Champagne Cocktail Book Two of Cocktails for You Now Available.

The trouble with writing a book for any of the shorts sets is that your word length is limited, which means you have to be selective. You need to tell a story in its entirety, but you need to constantly watch the length. Those of you who follow my writing know I tend to write longer books. Learning to write short ones has been an experience!

The Cocktails for You Series is my attempt at taking short stories and turning them into novellas for your enjoyment. All of the books in the series will be under 40,000 words, meaning they can usually be read in an evening.

Last week, I released Tequila Sunrise, as Book One of the series, adding about 8,000 words to the original published in Summer Shorts.

This morning, I’m releasing Champagne Cocktail, as Book Two in the Cocktails For You series. This Christmas story is roughly 15,000 words longer than the original version, What Dottie Wants that is part of Dear Santa, A Christmas Wish box set.

It contains more information about Ronnie and Aunt Wynn, as well as some of the neighbors who look out for the single mother. It also adds a little more to the relationship between Ronnie, Wyatt, and Dottie, and gives you a glimpse at the future.

Champagne Cocktail is available for 99 cents, in KU, and in paperback soon, for those who love a book in hand. Grab a copy and enjoy!

Look for the short version of Book Three, Buck’s Fizz, in New Year’s Eve Shorts. https://books2read.com/NYEShorts

Hi! I live in Eastern Ontario. I'm married with three adult children and five wonderful grandchildren. I prefer warm weather, and sunshine but winter gives me time to write. If I’m listening to music, it will be something from the 1960s or 1970s. I enjoy action movies, romantic comedies, but I draw the line at slasher flicks and horror. I love science fiction and fantasy as well. I love to read; I immerse myself in the text and, as my husband says, the house could fall down around me, and I’d never notice. My preferences are as varied as there are genres, but nothing really beats a good romance, especially one that is filled with suspense. I love historical romance too, and have read quite a few of those. If I’m watching television, you can count on it being a suspense — I’m not a fan of reality TV, sit-coms, or game shows. Writing gives me the most pleasure. I love creating characters that become real and undergo all kinds of adventures. It never ceases to amaze me how each character can take on its own unique personality; sometimes, they grow very different from the way I pictured them! Inspiration comes from all around me; imagination has no bounds. If I can think it, imagine it, I can write it!
