A to Z Challenge Blog 2021 Cocktails A to Z From the letter X

Well, we’re down to the last three letters of the alphabet, those seldom used ones that rarely start words. I was convinced that this was where i would run into trouble if the other letters didn’t do it first.

Today’s drink brought to you by the letter X is a Xaviera. Have you ever had one of those orange cappuccinos from those International Coffee powders? Well, essentially this is the delicious, iced, alcoholic version of it.

It’s a great way to finish off a meal with friends. Add the whipped cream and gold sugar beads, and it’s also a stand-in for dessert!

Make It Your Own

Ingredients

1/2 oz Amaretto
3/4 oz Triple Sec
3/4 oz Coffee Liqueur
1 oz Whipping Cream (optional)

Mix It

Shake briefly with a glassful of crushed ice in a double-cocktail glass. Garnish with a slice of orange and a cherry, add short straws, and serve.

That’s it! Enjoy.

Be here tomorrow for the treat waiting for you from the letter Y

Hi! I live in Eastern Ontario. I'm married with three adult children and five wonderful grandchildren. I prefer warm weather, and sunshine but winter gives me time to write. If I’m listening to music, it will be something from the 1960s or 1970s. I enjoy action movies, romantic comedies, but I draw the line at slasher flicks and horror. I love science fiction and fantasy as well. I love to read; I immerse myself in the text and, as my husband says, the house could fall down around me, and I’d never notice. My preferences are as varied as there are genres, but nothing really beats a good romance, especially one that is filled with suspense. I love historical romance too, and have read quite a few of those. If I’m watching television, you can count on it being a suspense — I’m not a fan of reality TV, sit-coms, or game shows. Writing gives me the most pleasure. I love creating characters that become real and undergo all kinds of adventures. It never ceases to amaze me how each character can take on its own unique personality; sometimes, they grow very different from the way I pictured them! Inspiration comes from all around me; imagination has no bounds. If I can think it, imagine it, I can write it!

  1. This is fantastic! I want one. And I want my main character, Xavier, to have one. Thanks so much for this post!

I love letter X posts! Always such variety.
It’s hard to believe the blogging challenge is almost over for 2021. Then the after survey, reflections, and the road trip sign-up.
Plus, I’m taking part in the Bout of Books read-a-thon in May. So much excitement!
