Hello! Have you missed me? I’ve had an incredibly busy summer. It was what I wanted. After years of suffering with my hip, I wanted one summer to enjoy myself. I didn’t quite get it, but I came very, very close.
Summer started early with a trip to the Saguenay region of Quebec where we visited museums, went whale watching, and enjoyed exquisite food and outstanding landscapes. It was a motorcoach tour and our driver, Dan, was fantastic as was the tour guide, Rosemary. I posted pictures from that trip earlier.
On the long weekend in August, we attended the Glengarry Highland Games, as patrons, and enjoyed watching the acutal games–you know, the heavy weights, the sheaf throw, the hammer throw, and of course, the caber toss, as well as the music and dancing. It was hot and muggy, but the rain held off and we had two outstanding days. There’s nothing like the sound of the massed bands.
Then on August 8, we departed for a 19 day motorcoach vacation to the East Coast. Dan was our driver again and Chris was our guide. We’ve travelled with Jolly Tours and Chris before, and he is noy only a maritimer, he’s a fountain of incredible information. We started with lunch at Chez Dani, the sugar shack I mentioned in an earlier posy and drove from there to Riviere du Loup for the night. Sound familiar? It will if you read A Case of Mistaken Identity since Evie spent a night there. From there we went to Moncton, New Brunswick for a night and visited the Bay of Fundy where the tides are the highest and lowest in the world. These are some of the famous rock formations you can see in the Bay of Fundy.
From there, we went to Halifax for the night. In the morning, we stopped at Peggy’s Cove for breakfast and entertainment. The waters may look peaceful, but more than one curious person as died on the site trying to outsmart Mother Nature.
Needless to say, days were jampacked with activities. I’m going to save the rest of my itinerary and pictures for the A to Z 2027, so if you want to know more stick around. When we reached Newfoundland and Labrador, we met up with another 25 people who’d flown to the island province, including Carol, Chris’s wife, and they shared the tour-guide duties. You’ll learn more about that in April.
Not everything on the vacation was fun. My other hip and my sciatica decided that they didn’t enjoy the sitting, standing, walking, required by the itinerary when we hit Newfoundland, so walking wasn’t as pleasant as I had hoped, but I managed to do and see almost everything I wanted to. I didn’t have my walker or even a cane which could’ve helped, but after four days home and getting the rest I needed, it’s slowly getting better. And of course, since a bus is a confined space so, it’s a case of share and share alike. If one person catches cold, we all do. Oh, well, this too shall pass.
All in all, I had a fantastic vacation, one I’ll share with you in April. Below are natural arches that we saw in Newfoundland.
But now it’s time to get back to writing and books and all that jazz!
I released three books in August, one romance suspense, Cold Heart, another in my Evie Chambers cozy mystery series, A Case of the Missing Prince, and the third installment in my Listen to the Stones saga, The Bonding. As well, I started The Bonds of Time, which will be my Tuesday Tales offering for a few months. As to other work, I started work on Winter Blues, a Winter Weddings novel, that should be available in a box set in early November.
Apologies to all of you whose posts I missed or failed to read because it wasn’t always doable. I will try harder from now on. Time isn’t limitless, and it’s hard to know how best to spend the days and hours we have.

Living the Dream 
I’m planning visits to two different friends who walk several miles a day, as I frequently do, but I walk on gravel and they walk on asphalt. In my experience, pavement messes up my hip joints before the walk is completed. Not sure what to do. Buy different shoes?
