Good morning. I sincerely hope life is treating you well. We have yet to fins spring although the birds and the plants are doing their damndest to be on schedule. My eyes are getting better every day, and I can walk farther and a little faster, but not unless Mother Nature comes to her sensesContinue reading “Waiting for Spring and Summer”

Reflections for the 2026 A to Z Challenge Blog
I’m back! Miss me? Just kidding. Welcome to my reflection on this year’s blogging experience. This year’s theme was: A is for Aspirations: Blogging hopes, dreams, and goals, and I believe I did a good job of at least coming close to its intentions. I’ve participated in this blogging adventure almost every year since itsContinue reading “Reflections for the 2026 A to Z Challenge Blog”
Day 26 of the 2026 A to Z Challenge Blog for the Letter Z
Good morning. Well, we made it. All twenty-six letters of the alphabet accounted for. It’s been an exciting month, a busy one, and if the weather wasn’t what I’d hoped for, it really wasn’t that much of a surprise. This is Canada and Climate Change is real. I’ve so enjoyed reading your posts, following alongContinue reading “Day 26 of the 2026 A to Z Challenge Blog for the Letter Z”
Day 25 of the 2026 A to Z Challenge Blog for the Letter Y
Good morning! I hope you’re having a wonderful day. The sun is hiding from us for the next couple of days, but it’s still warm today. That won’t last. We’ll be seeing negative numbers by the end of the week, and that will be in MAY! Not funny Mother Nature. We do need the rainContinue reading “Day 25 of the 2026 A to Z Challenge Blog for the Letter Y”
Day 23 of the 2026 A to Z Challenge Blog for the Letter W
Good day. My father used to say he was born a day late and a dollar short. That seems apt today, since this should’ve been yesterday’s post. Unfortunately, my charaters went on strike, refused to cooperate, and the ending I had envisioned fell flat on its face. Nothing seemed to work, and the deadline wasContinue reading “Day 23 of the 2026 A to Z Challenge Blog for the Letter W”
Day 20 of the 2026 A to Z Challenge Blog for the Letter T
Hello! How are things today? It’s sunny and 8 degrees here. No real heat coming our way anytime soon, but sun is better than rain. The eyes are coming along nicely. I can read most things without difficulty, and the computer letters aren’t dancing which is good since I have a book deadline this weekendContinue reading “Day 20 of the 2026 A to Z Challenge Blog for the Letter T”
Where Are You, Spring?
Welcome to the winter that doesn’t seem to want to end. Day 2 of spring, and we’re expecting more snow, as much as 15 cm (6 inches) by Sunday afternoon, and if that isn’t depressing enough, we can expect temps below freezing and into the minus double digits Celsius until at least the end ofContinue reading “Where Are You, Spring?”
I Should Be Working, But … Random Thoughts on a September Morning
After an exceptionally dry summer, autumn has arrived, and with it the rain we needed months and weeks ago. My plants went to an early grave when water levels fell so low that the local water authority asked its citizens to voluntarily cut back on water usage. That meant no more watering of lawns andContinue reading “I Should Be Working, But … Random Thoughts on a September Morning”
Tuesday Tales: From the Word POWERFUL
Wow! The last Tuesday in August. School is back in session for some while most of ours start next week. While the weather is still seasonal, the ealier darkness warns us that autumn and pumpkin spice time are just around the corner. This week the Tuesday Tales authors are writing to the prompt POWERFUL. I’mContinue reading “Tuesday Tales: From the Word POWERFUL”
Week Six Complete: On the Road Again!
For those who’ve been following the progress of my hip replacement surgery, I’m pleased to report that after six weeks, I’m truly almost back to normal. For the first time in more than three years, I’m walking without a cane or a walker. I have a slight limp, but that will resolve itself in time.Continue reading “Week Six Complete: On the Road Again!”
